"The very purpose of life is to be happy, so it is important to discover what will bring about the greatest degree of happiness... we should devote our most serious efforts to bringing about mental peace." H.H. The Dalai Lama

Having successfully ran my own businesses for 10 years, in July 2010 I followed through with my intention to sell my companies to pursue my spiritual path and dream as a full-time yoga teacher – with a clear purpose of facilitating you to connect with your Inner Self for Self-Awakening and Realization.

My name is Joseph Lee, a E-RYT 500 certified yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance (USA). I have studied internationally with renowned yoga masters of various disciplines, including Yoga therapy, Yin yoga, Hatha yoga, Vinyasa yoga, Asthanga yoga, Kundalini yoga, and Bikram yoga.

Over many years of dedicated yoga practice and teaching, I have transformed my personal approach to yoga as an inward mindfulness meditation practice, both on-the-mat and into my daily life. You do not have to master the advance yoga postures to be effectively practicing yoga – in fact, the more advance is your personal yoga practice, the softer and more subtle it is.

Yoga is a practice which connects you with your Inner Self, rather than just a superficial physical workout. The ultimate goal of yoga is to prepare oneself for silent seated meditation, observing one’s breath and “inner reality” – to be a constant witness to the inter-role playing between one’s mind and ego without getting involved or attached. And through consistent meditation practice, one realizes that the ego is the ‘False Self’ and is the main cause of most of our internal struggle and suffering, and one begins to detach oneself from the ego and mind by simply observing the ‘stories’ it has created in your head; the ego and mind does retreat over time through continual surrender, devotion to one’s breath, alert-ness, present-ness, and mindfulness; one does arrive at a state of inner silence, stillness, and bliss, where one is connected with his/her Inner Divinity/Atman (‘True Self’’). Every mindfulness meditation practice on-and-off the yoga mat is a golden opportunity for Self-Awakening and Realization. Yet, it is the journey/process that is important, not the final result or destination. There is no mastery in meditation; it is simply a practice – every minute, every second of the day.

Everyone can practice yoga and meditation at one’s own pace. All that is required is self-discipline and patience to practice. “As you seek, so you’ll find; As you sow, so you’ll reap; As you think, so you’ll become.” One first turns to yoga with a specific intention. And with this intention in mind, one plants a lotus seed in his/her spiritual heart. Through his/her diligent effort, consistent practice, self-inquiry, and focus, one waters this lotus seed and it begins to sprout - slowly transforming oneself internally and externally. ‘The key lies in bringing the daily yoga practice inward, not outward.’ Internally, one begins to discover an inner paradise, where peace, silence, stillness, bliss, self-acceptance, contentment, and love, exist; Externally, one blossoms into a beautiful lotus flower – one radiants more compassion, kindness, and love toward oneself and humanity. As the saying goes, “The only way out of suffering – is inward”. Stop further suffering; Start mindful living - in Purity and Truth.

“Those who look outward – dream. Those who look inward – awaken.” – Carl Jung

Don’t take my word for it. Come experience it for yourself. Many people have benefited from this approach, you can too. But it is not the right path for everyone – the key is to keep searching and self-inquiring, until you discover a path which resonates with your inner Purity and Truth - that is your personal path.

I look forward to the opportunity to serve you, and guide you on an inward journey toward Self-discovery. Namaste.
